Summer 2016 Website Updates

Over the past year we have continued to refine the new and improved UMBAA website - catching many bugs in the process. Thanks to everyone who reached out to us when something didn't function as expected. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us in the future as we will continue to implement new features.

You will also notice that the dozen email addresses at the bottom of the web site in the "Contact Us" section have now been replaced by one - umbaa-webmaster@umich.edu. This provides a single point of contact for users to gain assistance in troubleshooting, get answers to questions, and solve known problems. Every email sent to umbaa-webmaster@umich.edu automatically creates a help ticket in our new online support helpdesk. A ticket is essentially a file on the specific issue a user is having, the issue's present status, and other important data. Every member of our help desk team can view all these tickets, solve issues, and provide updates along the way until the issue has been resolved. This prevents the need to track down a specific UMBAA board member and the massive amount of email thrash this has generated in the past. Additionally, it allows us to streamline our management of all the open issues - ensuring no request gets buried or lost in someone's inbox.

When we launched our new site last year, we implemented a Netflix-like subscription model for our yearly memberships.

If you do not intend to renew your UMBAA membership this year, all you have to do is log into the Member Portal at http://www.umbaa.org/, click on the "Edit Account" button, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the "Disable Auto-Renew" button. Your membership will stay active through the end of your current membership (which is displayed in this section), but then expire at the end.

If your membership has already renewed before you read this article and you do not wish to renew, please email umbaa-webmaster@umich.edu and we can refund your dues.
